PROPEL STEROID-RELEASING IMPLANT

As such, he is the first physican in Westchester County and the Hudson Valley to offer the use of PROPEL sinus implants as part of his committment to the most up-to-date patient care. The PROPEL dissolvable implant is the first of a new category of products offering localized, controlled drug delivery directly to the sinus tissue, and backed by Level 1-A evidence. At the end of certain endoscopic sinus surgeries, Dr. Jourdy inserts the spring-like implant which expands within the sinus cavities and helps to maintain surgical openings both mechanically, and through the gradual but direct delivery of an anti-inflammatory topical corticosteroid to the sinus lining as the implant dissolves. The PROPEL system has been clinically proven to prevent obstruction of the ethmoid sinus following surgery. The result is improved post-operative outcomes, reducing the need for additional surgical procedures such as those due to scarring.
